Local Association of the Year Award

MTNA Local Associations may apply for this $1,000 award. An MTNA Local Association is defined as an organization formed within an MTNA-affiliated state association that has its own elected officers, collects local dues and has adopted its own constitution/bylaws that were ratified by the state MTA executive board.

Local Associations may nominate themselves for this award. The application deadline is November 1, 2012.

The Local Association will need to supply the following items for the application. These items must be submitted in a digital format and may be scanned and made into a PDF if necessary:

  • Cover letter from Local Association President
  • Information that supports this application, including such items: newspaper clippings of local events, copies of programs, student events or other activities that reflect the programming and mission of the local association. A maximum of 5 supporting documents will be allowed.

MTNA Headquarters will supply the following information to the selection committee (based on July 1, 2011–June 30, 2012):

  • Membership Growth/Retention
  • MTNA Foundation Contributions
  • MTNA Professional Certification:
    • Total number certified—percent of total membership
    • Number of newly certified
